Maple is shutting down. Where to go next.

Maple has been acquired by Wander and will shut down on December 31, 2026. Your account and data stay accessible until then. After that, accounts close and, in Maple's own words, all data is deleted with no way to recover it. Annual subscriptions have stopped renewing; monthly ones run until the sunset date.

Do this first, before anything else

Export your data. Not in December. Now, while you are thinking about it. The deletion is permanent and the deadline will arrive faster than it sounds, particularly with a household calendar's worth of history in there.

Then pick a replacement based on what you actually used

Maple did several jobs at once, and most people leaned on one of them. Which one decides where you should go.

If you used it as the family's shared calendar

Cozi is the most established replacement, with 4.8 stars from roughly 395,000 App Store ratings. The core is free: shared colour-coded calendar, shopping lists, to-do lists and a recipe box. Cozi Gold, from $29.99 a year, adds month view on mobile, extra reminders, change notifications and viewing further ahead than the free window allows.

Closest to Maple in shape, and the safest landing spot if the calendar was the point.

A note on picking a replacement after a shutdown

Getting migrated twice in one year is miserable, so it is reasonable to weigh how likely an app is to still be here. Cozi is the safest by that measure, having been around far longer with a user base in the hundreds of thousands. The newer apps in this category, ForeRun included, are small and young.
